The Escapade from Reality Aircraft was originally developed to meet the demand for a two place dual control "Microlight category" three axis aircraft. This development has now moved on to include a VLA version using common components and an increased MTOW of 499kg.
The key aims with the design where to make it as versatile as possible with appeal to all types of flyer and levels of experience (both building and flying) .
The aircraft :
- Is a microlight 450kg MUW
- Useful load of 195kg
- Fuel capacity 70 litres
- Engines from Rotax 503 through 912 or Jabiru 2200
- Folding wings giving width of 7ft 11 ½"
- Two place side by side seating (44" cabin width)
- Dual controls (individual sticks)
- Can be either a tailwheel or tri gear configuration (swaps from one to other in about 1 hour)
- Individual adjustable seats (tested to 120kg) giving plenty of leg and head room.
- Short field takeoff and landing (approx 100 metres @ 450kg)
- Good climb 1500 fpm (solo)
- Outstanding visibility (as per its cousin Easy Raider)
- Realistic affordable price.
- To increase performance/decrease drag streamline tubing has been used extensively
- A real fun airplane with the range and speed (912/Jabiru) of a tourer
- Fully tested to BCAR Section S. Over 150 hours flying completed between the two prototypes
- VLA Version 499kg MUW
- VLA Useful load 245Kg
